TelePulmonary Rehabilitation - NHS 24

Best use of teleheath and telecare winners

Guidelines for dealing with COPD recommend that patients attend programmes of pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) to receive support and advice on exercise and diet. But patients in rural areas or with poor mobility find it hard to attend classes. TelePR uses video conferencing technology to link classes in different locations. Participants can see and talk to each other and interact with the physiotherapist who leads each session.

Scottish Telestroke programme - Scottish Centre for Telehealth and Telecare, NHS 24

The development of the Scottish Telestroke programme, which uses video conferencing, PACS imaging and electronic messaging systems, is expected to allow more than 85% of the 800 acute stroke patients who should be eligible for treatment every year to access to it. This will potentially be the highest stroke thrombolysis rate in Europe, delivered by stroke specialists.

Utilising telehealth to facilitate treatment of COPD in Inverclyde - Docobo

Inverclyde CHP in partnership with Inverclyde Council, patients and carers developed a model to deliver care to patients living with long term conditions closer to home. The telehealth model was supported by Docobo doc@HOME technology, which allows patient details to be shared between multidisciplinary teams. Hospital admissions reduced and patients and their carers reported improved experience and quality of life.
