The strategy incorporates four integrated IT systems; 'Haemtrack' a national web-based patient home treatment record; 'HCIS' a trust-based haemophilia centre management system; 'NHD' a web-based national haemophilia registry; 'UKHIS' a national web-based reporting portal. The developed informatics strategy is renowned as the world's most comprehensive and is now being implemented internationally.

Improving patient care using the RiO community and mental health electronic patient record system, London and Southern Programme for IT

To date RiO has been implemented by 34 providers of community services and 14 mental health trusts (MHT), with nearly 60,000 end users across London and the south. The RiO solution removes the need for paper records by providing electronic patient records which enable healthcare teams to have easier, faster access to up-to-date patient information.

Transforming the way we deliver healthcare at Kingston Hospital by implementing CRS, Kingston Hospital NHS Trust

The scope of this project was to replace a number of systems, including an obsolete PAS, A&E system, maternity system and the main theatres system, as well as connecting to the Spine and implementing real-time admissions, transfers and discharges for the first time. Under no illusions as to the risk, the Kingston team decided the potential benefit was worth it provided that good project management was in place.
